Rosa Name Title.jpg

Hi, I'm Rosa.

I've been creating art from a young age whether making teeny books for my bears or spending endless hours as a kid copying my favourite characters from my Disney annual. I loved the everyday worlds of Shirley Hughes, especially her classic tale 'Dogger' and the joyful expressive creations of Brian Wildsmith.

I later trained in product design and had the pleasure of designing lots of products, furniture and toys for kids. This lead to a passion for surface pattern and back around to making books for kids which has been my passion throughout.

My illustrations always start with pencil and paper (or often charcoal / paint or whatever my kids have left lying around for my mark-making collage elements!) which are then transferred to my computer to make

the Illustrations in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator depending on what will work best for the project.

I'm particularly drawn to creating work exploring themes of child empowerment, navigating big feelings, mindfulness alongside the joy that kids find in everyday routines. I've worked on baby board books, activity books and mindfulness books for up to 10 years old.

I'm also in the process of compiling my author/illustrator manuscripts and dummy books for board and picture books (let me know if you'd like to know more!).

I'm always interested to hear about projects I may be suitable for. You can contact me via email rosa@rosalindmaroney.co.uk or via my website where you can sign up to my quarterly newsletter or
